On January 31, 2024, during the 87th Session of the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women at the United Nations in Geneva, the delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan presented the Seventh National Periodic Report on the implementation of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW).
The delegation of Tajikistan, led by the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Tajikistan, consists of representatives from the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Ministries of Labor, Migration and Employment, Internal Affairs, Health and Social Protection of the Population. The Commissioner for Human Rights of the Republic of Tajikistan and the representative of the secretariat of the Commission under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan to ensure the fulfillment of international human rights obligations also participated in the Session.
The delegation has provided detailed information on the country’s achievements towards increasing the role of women in the socio-economic life. This includes efforts to eliminate discrimination against women, promote gender equality, ensure access to education, labor, social protection, health care for women, which the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan provides.
